I just love everything in this store: Couverture & The Garbstore. It’s a shop based in London
filled with some amazing brands such as Bobo Choses, Atsuyo & Akiko, Mina Perhoven,
April Showers, Oeuf, Morley and the list goes on and on. If you are lucky enough to be in
London you can visit their 3-storey boutique, if not check out their online store… There is
something for the whole family.

My latest Etsy find is this amazing little shop from Bali called Elf. They make these wonderful leather sandals for your little girls, they are handcrafted and custom made to suit your needs. They have two models, Mole & Carino and 9 different colors to choose from. I love the spring green and ocean blue, but you can never go wrong with gold or even just brown! The available sizes are from 24-34 and the price is great.

All curled & cozy in bed while reading bunny books- does it get any better? With Easter
right around the corner, we have been diving into my vintage pile of rabbit books
for some hopping adventures. Sayer’s all chilled out & reading Whitman Giant Tell-A-Tale
Book: Peter Rabbit, illustrated by Rod Ruth (1963). Let’s hop down memory lane & check
out a few more…

One of my all time favorite books is, The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams. I still
think about this book when I’m making plush critters in my studio & wonder if a child will
ever make my creations real.

“Real isn’t how you are made,” said the Skin Horse. “It’s a thing that happens to you.
When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you,
then you become REAL. It doesn’t happen all at once. You become. It takes a long time.
Generally, by the time you are REAL, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes
drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don’t matter at all,
because once you are REAL you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.” (page 17)

Kiki, our beautiful grey kitty, was my first muse & was just

Sayer loves his bike & books so when I saw Along A Long Road, I knew it would be a
kiddo hit. Personally, I was really struck by the limited palette & the strong graphic style
of Frank Viva’s illustrations. In this book, the reader is taken on a little bike journey
following the yellow road – care to take a peek?

The words are simple & catchy while the illustrations are engaging. The bonus is that
Sayer was so excited to be able to read this himself. Definitely a nice pick for a bike lovin’,
adventurous tot.

Canadian-born, Sons + Daughters Eyewear™, prides themselves on

We have a new favorite book in the house called, Extra Yarn by Mac Barnett.  It’s a
charming book about a creative & colorful little girl named Annabelle, who lived in a
cold, little town that lacked color & character. When she found a box full of yarn with
every color in the rainbow, things started to change in her tiny town. I love how
Annabelle’s spunk, determination, & artistic vision warmed up her surroundings.
Have a glance at a few of the pages…

You may recognize the illustrations – they’re by Jon Klassen who wrote & illustrated
the much loved, I Want My Hat Back (a few of his characters from that book make
an appearance in this one). I have say, when I first read this story, I immediately thought
of Anabel Fournier who is owner & designer of Fournier. She is always creating such
wonderful knitted treasures & I’m sure if given the chance, she would knit everyone &
everything  around her something colorful too!  Oh, & Sayer is wearing my Fournier scarf
in the picture…
